Adopt

Adopting a pet is a life-changing decision — for both you and them. At ELSA, we rescue, rehabilitate, and find loving homes for animals who deserve a second chance. Each dog and cat in our care has their own story, often marked by hardship, but all they need is a responsible and loving family to give them the future they deserve. When you adopt, you’re not just gaining a new companion—you’re saving a life and making room for us to help even more animals in need.

Our Adoption Policy

At ELSA, we are committed to ensuring that every animal finds a safe, stable, and loving home. Therefore, we have a set of strict adoption rules.
We want our adopters to be people who can provide adequate medical care, quality food, enough time for socialization and proper care.
Each adoption is carefully reviewed, and our team offers guidance and support to ensure the best match between the pet and the adopter.
Keep in mind that a dog’s behavior can change depending on the environment, and it may take anywhere from a few days to several months for them to fully adjust and feel comfortable in a new home.

We do NOT allow adoptions in the following cases:

Dogs that will have only outdoor access, without the possibility of living inside the home with their family. We believe that a dog is a family member and deserves comfort, protection, and affection.

01

Animals adopted as a "surprise" or gift for a loved one, including children. Adoption is a serious commitment that must be made by the future owner themselves.

02

Cats that will have free access outdoors. We only allow indoor adoptions to protect them from dangers such as accidents, theft, or disease.

03

Animals being sent to countries with a significant stray animal crisis. We prioritize adoptions in locations where we can ensure the long-term safety and well-being of the pet.

04

People who have unspayed/neutered mixed-breed pets and refuse to sterilize them. We strongly believe in sterilization to prevent overpopulation and reduce animal suffering.

05

People who use punishment-based training methods, including force, aversive tools (shock collars, prong collars), or any form of abuse. We support only positive reinforcement training methods.
