Genetic Insights For Treatment
One Test Can Change a Future
Every child deserves a chance at a healthy future. However, for many, access to essential genetic tests for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment remains an unaffordable luxury. That’s why we created GIFT – Genetic Insights For Treatment, a project that provides children, families, and doctors with the medical answers they need.

What is Genetic Testing?
Genetic testing analyzes a person’s DNA to identify potential genetic changes that may impact their health. It is performed using a blood or saliva sample and can make a huge difference in a child’s life.
There are several types of pediatric genetic tests, each serving a specific purpose. The selection of the appropriate tests depends on the child's clinical presentation, family history, and the recommendations of the geneticist and pediatrician.
Why Are Pediatric Genetic Tests Important?

Early Diagnosis
Confirming or ruling out a genetic condition, providing a clear path to treatment.

Risk Assessment
Identifying genetic predispositions to inherited diseases.

Personalized Treatment
Tailoring therapies for greater effectiveness.

Preventing Complications
Early intervention can save lives and improve health outcomes.
There are over 10,800 rare diseases identified worldwide, and approximately 87% of them have a known or suspected genetic cause. Yet, in Romania, many genetic tests are not covered by the public healthcare system, making them unaffordable for countless families.
