History
Galateea's story began with a fight she almost didn't win. At only six weeks old, she was found in a devastating condition, suffering from a severe eye infection, feline herpesvirus, ear mites, and profound malnutrition. Weak, exhausted, and barely clinging to life, she needed urgent veterinary care to survive.
Her name, Galateea, comes from Greek mythology and means "the one brought to life." It could not suit her better. Every day, this tiny kitten reminds us that hope can be stronger than even the hardest beginnings.
She was immediately admitted to the veterinary clinic, where she received intensive treatment, careful monitoring, and around-the-clock care for 2 weeks. At first, we weren't sure whether she would even keep her eyesight. But thanks to the incredible dedication of her veterinary team and Galateea's own fighting spirit, she made a remarkable recovery.
Today, she is a healthy, playful kitten, finally ready to find a loving home.
Personality
Now that she has recovered, her true kitten personality shines every single day. She is playful, adventurous, and the perfect mix of sweetness, curiosity, and kitten energy. She loves discovering everything around her, always looking for something new to investigate. Toys, cardboard boxes, climbing opportunities…or even a crumpled piece of paper, everything becomes part of her next adventure.
Whether she's chasing toys, climbing cat trees, or inventing her own games, she approaches life with endless enthusiasm.
Despite everything she went through during her first weeks of life, she has remained incredibly trusting toward people. She enjoys being close to her humans, happily follows them around the house, and quickly settles in wherever the action is. When playtime is over, she transforms into a little cuddle bug who enjoys gentle pets and curling up nearby for a nap.
She is confident without being demanding and independent without being distant. Galateea adapts well to new situations and has a cheerful personality that brightens every room she enters. Like any young kitten, she still has plenty of playful zoomies, but she also knows how to relax and simply enjoy being part of the family.
She is looking for a home that will appreciate both her playful spirit and the incredible journey that brought her here. After such a difficult start in life, she deserves nothing less than a lifetime of love, safety, and happiness.
Behaviour Around Other Animals
Galateea gets along wonderfully with other cats and absolutely loves having feline companions to play and cuddle with. She is confident, social, and fearless. She has also shown she can comfortably live with dogs, after proper introductions and is in love with them if they are calm (Trudy was her absolute favourite).
Behaviour Around Children
Due to her gentle, playful, and affectionate personality, Galateea would do very well in a family with respectful children who understand how to interact kindly with young kittens. She plays nicely with our 6 years old neighbour.

Galateea is fully adapted to indoor life. She reliably uses her litter box, has excellent house manners, and quickly settles into a predictable routine. Galateea enjoys a balanced kitten routine filled with play, meals, naps, cuddles, and exploring her surroundings. She thrives with interactive toys, climbing opportunities, and quality time with her people before curling up for a well-earned sleep.

Health status
Galateea has made an extraordinary recovery and is now a healthy kitten.
When she was rescued, she was suffering from a severe eye infection, feline herpesvirus, ear mites, and severe malnutrition. Her eyesight was initially uncertain, and there was a real possibility she could lose her vision.
Thanks to intensive veterinary treatment and the incredible dedication of her veterinary team, her eyes healed beautifully, and she retained her vision. While they may remain slightly more sensitive than average in the future, they currently require no treatment and do not affect her quality of life.
She is now healthy, thriving, vaccinated according to her age.
She will be spayed when she is old enough and tested according to age-appropriate veterinary protocols.
Galateea is available for adoption in Romania, Germany or France, in a home where there already is another cat or together with one of her foster siblings.
