History

Forest’s life began in one of the harshest places. His litter was found at Pata Rât, Cluj-Napoca’s landfill, but by the time he reached us, Forest was the only surviving kitten.

He arrived as a tiny newborn, completely dependent on bottle-feeding, warmth and round-the-clock care. That same day, we had lost another bottle baby named Forest I. When this tiny survivor arrived, we gave him the same name in memory of the little kitten we had just said goodbye to.

Ivy, sister of Forest I, was still in our care. So the last survivors of two different families became a family of their own.

They grew up side by side through bottles, naps and wobbly first steps. And Forest grew into the complete opposite of the fragile newborn we had once worried over.

Forest was supposed to join his adoptive family in Germany on October 2nd, but shortly before leaving, he was diagnosed with FIP and the adoption fell through. He is now receiving treatment and doing well. Once medically cleared, Forest will once again be looking for the family that will choose him for good.

Personality

Forest is pure joy, curiosity and chaos wrapped in a very handsome little cat.

The fragile newborn we once worried about has grown into an incredibly confident, affectionate and energetic young boy who approaches life as though everything was specifically invented for him to investigate.

Forest wants to be involved in absolutely everything. If something moves, he needs to chase it. If something can be climbed, he will climb it. If a cupboard, box or bag is open, Forest considers that a personal invitation to inspect the premises.

He loves playing, wrestling, exploring and racing through the house, preferably with another animal joining the adventure. But underneath all that energy is an extremely affectionate little boy. Forest loves people, enjoys attention and is happiest when he can be close to his family.

He is social, trusting and wonderfully adaptable. Having been bottle-fed and raised inside a busy foster home, he sees humans and animals as part of his world rather than something to fear.

Forest is the kind of kitten who fills a home with movement, laughter, and personality.

Behaviour Around Other Animals

Forest absolutely loves other animals. He has grown up surrounded by cats and dogs and is confident, playful and relaxed around both.

He enjoys wrestling and playing with other cats, follows the adults around and happily curls up beside them to sleep. Dogs are equally acceptable - Forest has even been known to make himself comfortable sleeping directly in their fur.

We are looking for a home with another friendly animal companion.

Behaviour Around Children

Forest is friendly, confident and comfortable around children. His social nature and curiosity mean he is usually interested in joining whatever is happening around him rather than hiding away.

As with any young cat, children should interact with him gently and respectfully, and younger children should always be supervised.

For Forest, more family members usually just means more potential friends.

Leash Behaviour

Forest has not received leash or harness training.

With patience, treats, and gradual positive reinforcement, he may be able to learn to wear a harness in the future.

Training & House-manners

Forest is litter-trained and comfortable living indoors.

He has adapted very well to normal household life and understands the daily routine of his foster home.

Like many young kittens, Forest is curious and may occasionally climb where he should not, investigate objects that were not intended for him, or create his own games when he becomes bored.

He responds best to gentle redirection, consistency, and positive reinforcement.

Scratching posts, climbing structures, tunnels, interactive toys, and regular play sessions help him use his energy appropriately.

Favourite things?

Playing with other cats
Climbing and exploring
Cardboard boxes
Cuddling after playtime
Being involved in everything

What Makes Him/Her Unhappy/Nervous?

Forest does not enjoy being bored or isolated for long periods.

Because he has grown up surrounded by Ivy, adult cats, dogs, and people, companionship and activity are very important to him.

Size

1,7 kg at 5 months old

Energy Rating
1 = very low - 5 = very high

3-4/5 Forest is a medium energy young kitten.

His future family should be prepared to provide daily playtime, enrichment, scratching areas, climbing opportunities, and safe outlets for his energy.

Health status

Forest was diagnosed with FIP in September 2026 and started GS treatment on 19 September. He is currently responding well and is being closely monitored by our veterinary team.

Before his diagnosis, Forest was a healthy, active kitten and had received routine preventative care. He is vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested negative for FIV/FeLV.

Forest will remain in our care throughout his treatment and monitoring period. Once medically cleared, he will be ready to join his forever family and continue life as the energetic, happy young cat he has always been.

Forest is available for adoption in Romania, France or Germany.

Would thrive in a loving home with other cats or calm dogs.
