Ashanti spent almost five long years behind shelter bars, quietly watching the seasons pass while waiting for someone to finally see her. Despite being repeatedly overlooked, she never lost her calm, gentle, and hopeful spirit. At around ten years old, Ashanti entered foster care and slowly learned to trust again, discovering soft blankets, sunny resting places, peaceful companionship, and even the joy of playing with her foster sister Effy. She lived happily alongside cats, adored children, and asked only for kindness and safety. After undergoing a splenectomy, further testing thankfully found no signs of cancer. Today, Ashanti has been happily adopted in Germany, where this beautiful senior girl finally has the warm bed, loving family, and peaceful life she waited so many years to find.
