Alwin didn’t come alone — he was part of a whole canine clan that landed in the Cluj-Napoca public shelter in August 2024. Eight adults, some pups, all with mysterious family ties and matching underbites. They came from a place where a, let’s say… unusual human had been looking after them. We’re not quite sure what the plan was, but let’s just say the dogs were better off starting fresh.

Among this charmingly mismatched little tribe, Alwin stood out. Not for being loud or bold, but for his gentle, soulful presence. He was the quiet one, the deep thinker — the dog who observed before he acted, who took walks like a poet takes long strolls through nature, pausing often and asking the world silent questions with those wise, brown eyes.

Alwin was adopted once, by a family in Cluj-Napoca… but sadly, it didn’t last. After only a few days, they brought him back with reasons so flimsy we won’t even dignify them by repeating them here. That moment broke something in him — and left him the last of his siblings behind. Alone. Confused. Stuck in one of the shelter’s worst kennels.

But Alwin didn’t give up. And neither did we.

We took him into foster care in May 2025 and then came the message we were waiting for: Alwin has found a family thanks to our friends Pfotenglück! This time, there were no returns, no sad goodbyes — only a fresh start. 

He’s now in a loving  home, enjoying soft blankets, warm meals, and the kind of peace he’s never really known. His forever family. 

Real love. Real safety. Real home.

Alwin’s story is a quiet one — but it’s full of courage, heart, and a kind of sweetness the world could use a little more of. And that underbite? It’s perfect.
